Summer Maintenance Of Twin Screw Fish Feed Production Line (2)

Jul 07, 2025Leave a message

In the previous article, we introduced the summer maintenance precautions and methods for the maintenance of the mechanical transmission system of the twin-screw fish feed production line, the optimization of the heating and cooling system, and the protection of the electrical and control systems. This article introduces the special maintenance, safety and emergency management, and maintenance plans and records of the raw materials and molds of the fish feed production line.

Special maintenance of raw materials and molds for fish feed production equipment

1. Moisture-proof management of raw materials

• Storage environment: Fish feed raw materials (such as fish meal and soybean meal) need to be stored on shelves 30cm from the ground and 50cm from the wall. The warehouse should be equipped with a dehumidifier (humidity ≤55% RH), and the ventilator should be ventilated 10 times per hour to prevent the raw materials from absorbing moisture and agglomerating to block the feeder.

• Pretreatment inspection: The particle size of the crushed raw materials should be uniform (≥90% through an 80-mesh sieve). In summer, check whether there is agglomerated material in the feeding hopper before starting the machine every day. A vibrator (amplitude 2-3mm) can be installed in the hopper to prevent bridging.
2. Efficient mold cleaning
• Online cleaning: After production, use corn starch (water content ≤12%) to clean the screw and mold for 10 minutes in an empty run to prevent residual material from fermenting and corroding the metal.
• Offline maintenance: Soak the mold in 5% sodium hydroxide solution for 2 hours every week, clean the residual grease in the mold hole with a copper brush, then rinse with clean water and dry (temperature 80℃, time 30 minutes) to prevent the mold hole from rusting and causing irregular feed shape.

Safety and emergency management of fish feed making machine

1. Equipment safety protection
• Overload protection test: Simulate motor overload every month (such as artificially increasing the feed amount), test whether the thermal relay operates within 10 seconds at 1.2 times the rated current, and the over-temperature alarm (set value 80℃) needs to be tested with a heating plate for response sensitivity every week.
• Fire prevention measures: Dry powder fire extinguishers must be installed near the production line (no less than 1 per 50 meters), smoke sensors must be installed in the electrical cabinet, raw material dust is easy to accumulate in summer, and dust around the equipment must be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner every day (accumulation thickness ≤ 0.5mm).
2. Emergency plan formulation
• Cooling system failure: If the cooling water is interrupted, immediately shut down and activate the spare water tank (capacity ≥ 30 minutes of use), open all the heat dissipation holes of the barrel at the same time, and use axial flow fans to force cooling to avoid the screw from locking due to high temperature.
• Motor overheating treatment: When the motor temperature exceeds 80℃, it is necessary to shut down and check the bearing clearance (allowable ≤ 0.1mm) and winding insulation resistance (≥ 0.5MΩ). If the insulation drops, it can be baked in a drying oven (temperature 105℃) for 48 hours to restore the insulation performance.

Maintenance plan and record

Maintenance itemsSummer cycleOperation points
Screw and barrel inspectionOnce a weekMeasure the wear, clean the coking materials, and apply anti-rust oil (high temperature type) on the screw surface
Gear oil replacementEvery 2 monthsWhen replacing, clean the inner wall of the gearbox with kerosene, and test the oil viscosity before adding new oil (≥180cSt at 40℃)
Cooling water cleaningEvery 2 weeksUse descaling agent to clean for 30 minutes, then rinse with clean water, and ensure that the water flow rate is ≥2m/s
Electrical cabinet dehumidificationEvery dayReplace the desiccant, check the fan operation status, and the cabinet temperature ≤40℃
Raw material warehouse ventilationContinuous operationEnsure that the humidity in the warehouse is ≤50% RH, and the raw material stacking height is ≤2 meters to avoid the bottom material from being compressed and agglomerated

The core of fish feed production line maintenance in summer is "temperature control, moisture prevention, and wear prevention". By strengthening the efficiency of the cooling system, strictly protecting the electrical system, and shortening the inspection cycle of key components, the equipment failure rate can be effectively reduced. At the same time, the maintenance frequency needs to be adjusted according to the production load (such as shortening to daily inspection of key parts during high-load production) to ensure the stable operation of the twin-screw fish feed production line in a high-temperature environment and to ensure the quality and production capacity of fish feed products.
